back was feeling better, TW came through with vips, and jenks said he was drivin, so why not check out the finals in some of the best waves the US Open has seen in years. jenks scooped me up around 930 and we headed down. finally found parking not too far away, after missing out on a spot or two. we’ll call it a healthy walk. huntington was packed up as it always is during the open. total chaos. made our way down to the beach through the endless crowds, found the twsurf tent and picked up our credentials. from there it was quick step up to the vip stands complete with shade, food, drinks, and new era hats. and of course a smoking hot girl running the new era hat stand. awesome. scored two great seats in front with shade and as it turned out all the homies were sitting right by us too. pretty much just posted up there all day. didnt really want to go down into the madness until we had to make our way back to the car. saw the juniors heat, expression session, and life rolls on session. the waves were pretty mackin for all those heats. time for the finals. brett simpson vs. mick fanning, the heat started out really good. some good size waves rolling through and mick and brett were pickin em off. as time went on the swell seemed to die though. i would say the first 5 mins or so were the best. after that shit lagged. mick really wasnt fanning the fire and lost, which means brett simpson came out on top with 100k! stooooked brah!

went over and checked out agenda this afternoon. i think this was the best one yet. it seemed way more organized then years prior. ran into some friends, saw some cool stuff, and i only spent half a day. perfect because i forgot to mention this i fucked my back up in cabo and it has been killing me. thinking about hitting up the open this weekend. we’ll see, if my back feels better, TW comes through with some VIP passes, and jenks drives probably will make the effort. in the mean time peep some pics

headed down to cabo for peej’s bachelor last weekend. been in recovery for the last couple days so havent been able to post anything. feelin better now so here are some shots from the trip. super fun time with really great friends, 12 in all. the bachelor peej, dave, zach, brad, christian, nicholas, fabs, matt, scott, allen, nutty, and myself. great crew. almost missed my flight down. got to the airport with less then a hour to spare, technically got kicked off the flight had to wait in line, got back on the flight, ran to the terminal, and made by the skin of my teeth. only brought the camera out one night or day for that matter. i think the saying goes, what happens in cabo stays in cabo, so here is the most basic break down of the trip. partied it up thursday night, surfed zippers friday, partied it up friday night, water taxi down the beach saturday with the most epic banana boat ride back, home sunday in time for some tb and entourage with lemoine, lori, and alyssa. phew, great weekend!

danzo and mutty from flow rolled up for some lunch today. we hit the most bomb peruvian food this side of the hemisphere. inka grill, if you are ever in irvine and it is lunch time this place is a must. so good. it was nice to break out of the office for a bit as things have been super crazy. i went over with kristin and on the way i told her i was going to eat the whole plate, as i was starving. i have never been able to eat the whole plate. ever. but today i did. this is pretty monumental. if you see her, ask her. its true. going to cabo tomorrow for PJ’s bachelor party. found my passport, thanks z man for calling to make sure. now just gotta pack, kind of laggin on that. not gonna be posting anything till at least next week. hang tight. should be some goodies from cabo, probably worth the wait. oh, ps kristin, hope lil johnny is doing okay.

since jackie is famous and was doing the on air for NBC for the maloof money cup she was able to come through with some tix on sunday. another f’ing hot day but what the hell. free tix, bunch of homies, and sick skating. made it just in time for the vert finals with the street finals set for right after. found some alright seats for the vert final, couldnt really see all of the pipe but had a killer view of the big air lead into the pipe (check the photos) alex perelson won the vert, pulled a 900 nuff said. after a recharge on some brews got killer seats for the street final. right in the middle of the course like three rows up and in the shade. stoked. chris cole threw it down and banked 100k. pretty nice chunk of change. hung around for a bit after, grabbed a corndog at the fair and hit the road. solid day, weekend really. now just need to rest up for cabo on thursday…

been totally lagging on this… busy busy busy. so recap the weekend, got outta work a bit late on friday so to avoid traffic i swung down to the newps to grab a happy hour drink with kb. the newps was packed but got lucky on a parking space, good thing too i was about to turn around and go home. turns out she lives right in front of a this chick i know, jeannie who used to work at split. got down there a little before 5 and hoped on bikes and cruzed down the board walk to mutt lynch’s for a huge glass of beer, then over to sharkez for some tacos. after that i bounced back home and met up with ali who showed up with a brand new bottle of vodka and some soda. we drank at least 2/3 in about 45mins. by the time we hit the bars we were pretty toasty. woke up with a rad headache and charged out to camarillo to scoop up scotty and hit up metty’s bday bash at sycamore up by point mugu. took the freeway up to scott’s it was 102 in the valley, crazy hot. metty’s was super fun and after headed up to chandi’s parents newly built mansion on the beach in ventura to watch the UFC fight. phat pad with an elevator in it. no joke. so sick. after that i was totally wiped out, dropped scotty off at home and cruzed back to the pad.
